Privacy policy

Locally Better builds and runs websites for local businesses in Australia. This page says what personal information we collect, why, and what we do with it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- When you ask for a free mockup: your name, business name, phone, town or suburb, and anything else you choose to give us (email, type of business, a link, the plan you like, a message).
- When you book a call: your name, email, phone if you give it, a note if you write one, and the time you picked.
- When you visit our site: which page you opened, the kind of device, and the site that sent you. We set no tracking cookies, store no IP address, and use no advertising pixels.
Why we use it
Only to reply to you, to hold the time you booked (with a confirmation, a reminder, and links to move or cancel it), and to understand which pages people use. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anyone else's advertising.
Calendar connections
Businesses that use our booking service can connect their Google or Microsoft (Outlook) calendar. When they do, we read the busy times in that calendar so we never offer a time that is already taken, and we add, move or remove the appointments booked through us. We do not read the titles, notes or guests of other events, we keep the connection key encrypted, and the business can disconnect at any time, which removes our access.
Locally Better's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to train AI models, and no person reads it unless the business asks us to for support, or the law requires it.
Who else sees it
We use service providers to run the site: hosting, a database, and email and text-message delivery. They handle your information only to provide that service to us. Some of them store data outside Australia.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and bookings while we are in contact with you and for as long as the law requires after that. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. To do that, or to make a complaint, send us a message through the form on our home page. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
